This free printable mathematics worksheet helps students in Grades 3–5 build fluency with multiplication facts from 1 through 12. It includes 20 questions: 18 multiple-choice items, one fill-in-the-blank problem, and one open-ended multiplication problem. Students recall facts such as 8 × 9, 12 × 4, 7 × 7, and 6 × 9, select answers from distractors, and demonstrate their thinking beyond choosing an option. The varied format gives teachers a quick way to check both automatic fact recall and independent response skills. Multiple-choice questions reveal common calculation errors, while the fill-in-the-blank and open-ended items require students to produce or explain a product without relying only on answer choices. Use the worksheet for class practice, review, or a skills check. It is a free printable worksheet with a complete answer key for efficient checking.

This Grade 3–5 worksheet practises recalling multiplication facts with factors up to 12, including facts such as 1 × 12, 8 × 9, 12 × 4, and 7 × 7. Its 20 items combine 18 multiple-choice questions with a fill-in-the-blank item and an open-ended 8 × 9 problem, so students practise both selecting a product and generating one independently.
Use the multiple-choice items to begin a fact-recall discussion, asking students to explain how they know products such as 8 × 9 = 72 or 9 × 11 = 99. Then have students complete the 9 × 3 fill-in-the-blank and open-ended 8 × 9 questions without answer choices, using those responses to transition from recognition to independent recall.
Watch for students choosing a nearby product when they confuse facts with similar factors, such as selecting 64 instead of 56 for 8 × 7 or 63 instead of 54 for 6 × 9. Also check whether students can produce the product in the fill-in-the-blank and open-ended items rather than relying on the multiple-choice options; the duplicated 16 choices for 4 × 4 are an opportunity to focus on the product itself, not its position.
This multiplication facts worksheet is available as a printable PDF and as a digital quiz on Wayground, and it includes a complete answer key for all 20 items. For printable submissions, scan student work with the Wayground for Teachers app to streamline grading while reviewing errors across the multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, and open-ended questions.
In the worksheet’s Advanced Settings, adjust font spacing and font size to make the multiplication items easier to read and navigate. You can also enable a dyslexia-friendly font or translate the worksheet into another language when those changes support access to the fact-practice directions and response choices.
