The foundation of every pizza is the crust, and good crust comes from good dough.  You might be surprised to learn that pizza dough is made from nothing more than flour, water, yeast, olive oil, salt, and sometimes sugar.  Start by adding your yeast packet to a cup of warm water.  Let the yeast activate, and then add two cups of flour, two tablespoons of olive oil, two teaspoons of sugar, and a teaspoon of salt.  Mix all of that together and wait half an hour for the dough to rise.  Now you're ready to roll it out!

The dodo bird used to roam in large flocks across America.  Interestingly, the dodo wasn’t startled by gun shot.  Because of this, frontiersmen would kill entire flocks in one sitting.  Unable to sustain these attacks, the dodo was hunted to extinction.

This morning was crazy. My alarm clock was set for PM instead of AM, so I woke up really late. I just threw on some clothes and ran out the door. I rode my bike as fast as I could and thought that I was going to be late for sure, but when I got there everyone was outside and there were firetrucks all lined up in front of school. I guess somebody pulled the fire alarm before class started. It worked out though, because nobody really noticed or minded that I was tardy.

Apples and oranges are both fruits, which means that they have seeds inside of them. Each has a skin, but orange skins are thick and easy to peel. Apple skins are thinner and do not peel easily. Oranges also contain more acid than apples, but both fruits are delicious.

Beagles are medium-sized members of the hound family. Beagles generally make good pets because they are intelligent, good-natured, and good with children. Beagles are also quite playful and need a great deal of exercise. 

Today more people are connected to the internet than ever before, not only at home, but also on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Many of these people now get their news from the internet rather than reading newspapers. As a consequence, many newspapers have gone out of business. 

            Toad (Frog) Population
      Dr. Knapp doesn’t want people to sit back and let the toad vanish.  He believes that everyone is responsible for restoring the toad species.  One of Dr. Knapp's solution is that we stop mowing parts of our lawns and let the grass grow wild to reserve space for the toad.  He also believes we need to stop using pesticides and fertilizers.  The chemicals kill the insects that toads eat.  If we preserve some spaces in our lawns and stop using fertilizers, Dr. Knapp believes we can save the toads. 

Hurricanes and destruction they have cause take many lives each year. Sadly, people do not have to die from these disasters. One thing to prevent lives being lost is having an evacuation procedure. Cities and towns in the path of a hurricane, need to be evacuated.Some people who live within these cities and towns do not have transportation, so buses should be provided and safe drop off zones need to be arranged. Having better evacuation procedures would save lives.

Hurricanes and tornadoes are both amazing but deadly natural phenomena.  Both generate deadly conditions, but in different ways. Tornadoes are likely to damage both people and property with their high winds,which go up to 300 miles per hour; however hurricanes are generally more feared because of their flooding. Also, hurricanes can produce tornadoes which make them dangerous, indeed.

My father never got along with old, Mr. Marsh, and their fathers didn't get along either. Some say high fences make good neighbors. Well, if that is true, I guess our fences are too short. It all started back in 1874, when my grandma was just a  young girl, doing her laundry at the lake. Old Mr. Marsh just so happen to be dumping some animal waste in that same lake. My grandma didn't like that much being that the waste could get on her church clothes, and all, so she started shouting across the lake.  He shouted back.  Maybe Old, Mr. Marsh did say "bench" as he later claimed, but my grandma didn't hear that word. Later that year, a couple of Mr. Marsh's pigs disappeared. Then, our grain silo burned down. Then, someone went and salted Mr. Marsh's prime farmland. Yep, it seems for as long as I can remember, we have been at odds, or getting even with the Marsh's.
