Ender refuses to obey Rose's orders inside the battleroom.

There was a scheduled exhibition battle between a selected group of launchies and older boys.

Not everyone has talents or special gifts like Ender does. Sometimes you have to leave "losers" behind.

People have just as much authority over you as you let them have. The more you obey, the more power they have.

Young children make the best soldiers because there hasn't been a lot invested in them. They are all easily expendable.

The commanders at the battle school truly do have the best interests of everyone at heart. They are not allowed to show it though.
