From 1815 to 1817 they had many battles and no one was wining however, Bolívar declared that his next objective was the end of slavery.
He made alliances with two groups of guerrilla soldiers, who attacked the Spanish army. He also called the ex- European soldiers troops. Then in 1819, he planned to cross the Andes Mountains and surprise the Spanish. Bolivar’s army of 2,000 soldiers first had to cross the hot jungles of the Orinoco River and then the freezing mountains.
Many soldiers died, but Bolívar’s army was strong enough to defeat the Spanish in four different battles to liberate the Nueva Granada. The last two battles of those, were the Pantano de Vargas Battle and the final one; the Battle of the Boyaca Bridge (Batalla Del Puente de Boyaca)
