To stop minor bleeding from cuts apply pressure to the area

1. Blow dryers can burn client’s hair and scalp when held too close.

All hazards must be reported to the instructor immediately.

Hair must be swept up immediately after a haircut.

1. Pins and clippies can be left on the floor when dropped.

Tools and equipment must be returned to their proper place.

Water spills must be wiped up immediately.

Do not unplug electrical cords when your hands are wet.

The fire extinguisher is located at the front of the Cosmetology and Barbering department.

Always close the towel cabinets and lockers.

Never play with pedicure carts.

All items contaminated with blood must be double bagged and thrown away.

When exiting the Cosmetology and Barbering department for a fire drill, exit through the front towards the parking lot.

The fire alarm is located by the back of the Cosmetology and Barbering department.

Chemicals can burn your hands

Gloves are never to be worn during chemical services.

When we leave the department due to a fire drill, exit in a single file line in a calm manner.
