Check to ensure that all the safety guards are in place.

Use the correct speed for the size of the hole.

Leave the drill bit in the chuck as you leave the Drill Press.

Center punch all holes before they are drilled.

Check the drill bit to ensure that it is not bent, or broken.

Remove the chuck key from the chuck prior to starting the Drill Press.

Use a clamp to secure material on the table.

All material should extend to the left.

Use a scrap piece of wood underneath your work piece to avoid drilling into the table top.

Make adjustments to the Drill Press with the power on.

Set the depth stop to the correct depth prior to operating the Drill Press.

Stand directly in front of the Drill Press.

Do not force the bit into the work piece.
