We shall be judged according to how we relate with the poor

It is a choice to commit oneself to oppose the injustice, exploitation, oppression, and marginalization of the least members of our community.

It is also a commitment to work against poverty and it upholds the dignity of all human persons.

This form of poverty is the deprivation of even the basic means to sustain life.

This reason for poverty is because of defective structures in our society.

This calls us to have a deep trust in God alone and not rely on material possessions for security.

All of us are challenged to give enough loving attention to the needs of our poor brothers and sisters and share our resources with them to help them be free from poverty and make them realize how much God loves them.

The poor deserve to be loved in a special way because they are deprived of so many things in life. But it does not mean neglecting those who have much in life. In fact, in prioritizing the needs of the poor, the rich are at the same time led to be holier persons.

This form of poverty states that the poor are sometimes relegated or confined to a lower or outer limit in the community.

These are the laborers, the workers in factories, the farmers, fishermen, and other people who perform manual labor.

These are the professionals who have completed college education like doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc.

The person achieves a sense of fulfillment through work making him/her more alive and human. Through work, the person develops and nurtures his/her own identity as a person.

The family is the place where we learn how to work. Love for work may be developed at home. Through work, the needs of a family are well provided.

With our capacity to work, we can share or contribute to the welfare of our community or country.

Human persons are the purpose of work.

It supports human dignity-it promotes our dignity as human beings, since through it we can potentially use our intellect and free will.

Everyone who is capable of working has a right to work according to his/her own giftedness.

Right to social benefits

Every work is there in this world, no matter how small it is in the eyes of other people, as long as it contributes to the betterment of our society, serves the common good.
