When I went to the Surabaya zoo, I saw an owl. This owl is unique and amazing bird. It is a heavy bird and has a large head and an oval face. The owl has round eyes. Its eyes are large and are locked in the skull. It means the eyes cannot rotate independently. They are typically solitary. Though the owl is typically solitary, it also lives in a group. The owl hunts mostly small mammals, insects and other birds.

Lembah Pelangi Waterfall

Lembah Pelangi Waterfall sounds unfamiliar for either local or foreign tourists. Lembah Pelangi Waterfall is located in Sukamaju village, Ulu Belu sub district, Tanggamus district, Lampung province, Indonesia. The access to this place is quite difficult because UluBelu sub district is a remote area in Lampung with its hilly contours which make this tourist spot elusive.

Lembah Pelangi Waterfall has two levels where the waterfall on the second level has two branches. The height of the first level waterfall is about 100 meters, while the second level waterfall is about dozens of meters. The best enchantment of this waterfall is the rainbow which appears between the valley and the waterfall as the name suggests. The soft flowing gurgling waterfall sounds is like a chant of nature which can remove the tiredness of the long trip to go there. Under the waterfall, there are several spots of warm water which can be an interesting spot for bathing.

In this place, you will be shown a panorama of natural beauty which is very interesting for every pair of eyes seeing it. Rocky hills accompanied by leafy trees will actually soothe both your eyes.

4. Eat a Healthy Diet

     Despite confusing news reports, the basics of healthy eating are actually quite straightforward. You should focus on fruits, vegetables and whole grains and keep red meat to a minimum. It’s also important to cut back on bad fats (saturated and trans fats) and choose healthy fats (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats) more often. Taking a multivitamin with folate every day is a great nutrition insurance policy.

Two days ago I went to the Merapi mountain. It was the first time I climbed the mountain. I did it with some of my friends. We started climbing at 8 p.m. It was so dark and we only used flashlight to get the way.I felt no worry because all of my friends were professional climbers. I just followed their instruction.

We climbed slowly and enjoy the night there. After 7 hours walking in the dark, we could reach the top of the mountain. It was at 3 a.m. early in the morning.We were not alone. There were a lot of people who reached that top before usWe waited the sun rises by cooking some food and making some hot drink to get back our energy. We sang some songs together, shared stories and got acquainted with people there.After seeing the sun raised, we had to go back home.Getting down the mountain was not as hard as the climbing process because we only spent a few energy and time even we had to be more careful to do this process. However, it was great experience I had ever done so far.After all, that was my great experience I had ever had.

Trip to The Beach

Last month, my father brought the whole family to the nearest beach from our home. The trip took approximately 2 hours to the beach. We went there by car.

As we arrived on the beach, my little brother jumped from the car and ran to the seashore right away. Then, I followed behind him. We took off our shoes, and then played chase on the seashore.

My father pulled out his camera and took some pictures of my brother and me. In the meantime, my mother served several dishes and snacks that she had prepared on the mat.

After feeling tired of playing on the beach, my brother and I came over to our parents. Then, we ate the dish together and had a warm conversation until the sun went down.

That day was one of the most fascinating beach moments that we have ever had.

Once upon a time there was a peacock who was very proud of its beautiful looks. Its only disappointment was that it live next to an ugly owl. Every day, peacock come to the owl house would insult the owl on its looks while the owl stayed quiet. 

All the other animals in the forest tried to make the peacock see sense, but it was too swayed by its own good looks. 

One night, it rained heavily and flooded the peacock’s nest. Peacocks are homeless and have no food. Peacock came to the owl house to ask for food and the owl gave it. Then the owl told the peacock to stay.

An earthquake (or quakes, tremors) is the shaking of the surface of the Earth. The surface of the earth, called the "crust," is not one solid piece. It's more like a 20 piece puzzle. Each puzzle piece is called a "plate." The plates constantly move. Fortunately for us, they don't move fast. Geologists estimate the fastest plate might shift 6 inches a year (15 centimeters). That's about as fast as your hair grows.

 Earthquakes happen when a plate scrapes, bumps, or drags along another plate. When does this happen? Constantly. About a half-million quakes rock the Earth every day. That's millions a year. People don't feel most of them because the quake is too small, too far below the surface, or deep in the sea. Some, however, are so powerful they can be felt thousands of miles away.

 A powerful earthquake can cause landslides, tsunamis, flooding, and other catastrophic events. Most damage and deaths happen in populated areas. That's because the shaking can cause windows to break, structures to collapse, fire, and other dangers.

Geologists cannot predict earthquakes. They hope they will in the future through continued research and improved technology.

Earthquakes can happen anytime or anywhere. But you can prepare for the unpredictable with a family safety plan, emergency kit, and supplies.

Uncle James is my favorite uncle. He lives with my grandparents. Their house is not too far from mine. He is my mother’s youngest brother. He is still young, this year he has just turned 28 years old. Uncle James is very handsome. He has wavy dark brown hair and honey-brown eyes. He is tall and lean.

       I like uncle james because he is very kind and smart. He likes to play with his nieces and nephews. He often helps me study. He is very good at English and mathematics. He also has a wide knowledge of many subjects. I learn a lot from him. It’s always nice to have conversation with him.

An elephant is the largest and strongest animal. It is a strange looking animal with its thick legs, huge sides and backs, large hanging ears, a small tall, little eyes, long white tusks and above all it has a long noise, the trunk.

                The trunk is the elephants peculiar feature, and it has various uses. The elephant draws up water by its trunk and can squirt it all over its body like a shower bath. It can also lift leaves and put them into its mouth. In fact the trunk serves the elephant as a long arm and hand. An elephant looks very clumsy and heavy and yet it can move very quickly.

                The elephant is a very intelligent animal. Its intelligence combined with its great strength makes it a very useful servant to man and it can be trained to serve in various ways such as carry heavy loads, hunt for tigers and even fight.

Gold is a precious metal. Gold is used as ornaments or as money. Gold is found in many places, but in a small supply. It is often found on the surface of the earth. Since gold is a heavy substance, it is sometimes found loose on bottom of rivers. The gold is found together with sand and rocks, and must be separated from them. It is simple to search for this type of gold. It is not usually necessary to drill for gold, but when a layer of gold is located deep below the surface of the earth, it is possible to drill a hole into the ground. Engineers have developed modern process for removing gold from rocks. Since gold is not very hard, it is sometimes melted and added to other substances for making rings, coins, and art objects. It will be priced forever because it is beautiful, rare, and useful.
