A Good Team Player

Summary

In A Good Team Player Andersen, A (1992)  presents the case of Steven, a staff accountant in the accounts payable section, that attended the welcominge of his new supervisor,  Kristin, the new manager of accounts payable, who had been transferred from a similar position in another subsidiary of the company  to Ssteven´s division, in order to organize and improve the efficiency of operations in that company. At the welcominge, Kristin asked her subordinates for suggestions to improve the accounts payable section. Steven told Kristin that he thought people got promotions and received opportunities to work overtime based on personal preference and not the quality of their work. The next day, Kristin told Steven that she was not going to allow bad players on her team and asked for the names of each of the managers that were involved or else she would think he was involved in the situation. Finally, Steven did not know what to say to his supervisor. (158 words).
