MEETING MY IDOL

1.) Afgan has always been my favourite singer. I had always been thinking of how I would feel when I met him. Then I was suddenly hit by lightning when I found out Afgan was coming to town for a concert in a local auditorium. A day before the concert, there would be a meet- and-greet event at a local radio station. Feeling excited, I packed all my Afgan’s CDs to get his signature at the event.

2.) On that bright and sunny Saturday morning, the radio station was full of Afganism (that’s how Afgan’s fans are called). They sat on the chairs prepared inside the radio station’s lobby. Some stood in rows in the front yard of the radio station. A spot inside a lobby was prepared with a mini stage for Afgan’s singing performance and a table for Afgan to sign Afganism’s memorabilia.

3.) Finally, after about 40 or 50 minutes wait, Afgan showed up from inside the radio station. He smiled and waved to all Afganism who had been waiting excitedly saying, “Good morning. How are you all?” The crowd went crazy. The shouts sounded like a mix of “Fine, thank you” and screams of Afgan’s name.

4). Then, he started the event by singing his hit single “Dia dia dia”. Afganism went even crazier; they sang along with him throughout the song. Of course, I did too. I couldn’t take my eyes off this amazing singer who had released three albums.

5). When he was finished with the song, the host announced that it was time for autographing the memorabilia. I prepared my CDs and began to stand in the line. When I arrived at the table, I was speechless. It was unreal just seeing him that close. I thought it was really cool seeing him like that because he really just felt like a normal person, which was awesome.

6.) He asked my name so that he could write it on the CD to say “To Mia, Love Afgan”. He was also very friendly, so I didn’t feel too nervous when I had a chance to take pictures with him.

7.) He was just an amazing person. That was one of the best days in my personal life history.

We were fortunate on the grounds that we were driven by a brilliant and amicable aide. At that point we proceeded with our adventure to Borobudur. We had a wonderful holiday in Bali.

It was a really great place. The people were friendly, the food was great, and the weather was a lot better than at home.

Most days were pretty. I swam two or three times a day, but my brother Fachri just spent all his time lying on the beach with his eyes closed.

Last Saturday I got on the bus and went to the north of the island, It was much quieter there than here–very beautiful, but no tourists. The next day we went across to

The unforgettable moment involved bush fires and loss. At the age of eight growing up in Warrandyte a town located in Victoria Australia. It was January 1962 in a family built home amongst bushland of eucalypts and native trees. A wonderful childhood growing up listening to wildlife, bush walking and cubby - houses. Warrandyte had a history going back to 1939 of serious bush fires. In January 1962 a very serious fire broke out and as the situation intensified with huge amounts of bellowing smoke and reports of fierce northerly winds. High temperatures and a very dry inflammable undergrowth. It was obvious that our family would need to leave our home to save ourselves. Grabbing a few blankets my teddy bear and very little else all squeezed into a small car My father remained with the house and a hose with poor water pressure to spray down the house and vegetation. Very late that night after settling down in a friends home and waiting to hear news - my father arrived with the tragic news that our home and all our belongings had been destroyed. The fire has left a blackened block of land with a lonely chimney. 450 homes were lost and 30 people lost their lives. We survived and many didn't . Last weekend, my friends and I went camping. We built the camp next to a small river.

It was getting darker and colder, so we built a fire camp. The next day, we spent our time observing plantation and insects while the girls were preparing meals. In the afternoon we went to the river and caught some fish for supper.

At night, we held a fire camp night. We sang, danced, read poetry, played magic tricks, and even some of us performed a standing comedy.

On Monday, we packed our bags and got ready to go home. It was wonderful experience in my life.

The next day we went across to

the east coast to see some of the old villages.

I learned Balinese–I couldn’t say much, but it was fun to try.

Last week, l went to the lake for fishing. It was the suitable time for fishing because I had nothing to do. I went there with my friends.

Arriving at the lake, I directly went to the best spot to get a giant fish. It was under the big tree at the bank of the lake. I threw my hook as far as I could then I waited for the fish eating my bait. It had been 15 minutes and I finally saw the sign that there was a fish eating my bait. I tried to pull it up and I succeeded. I got a three kilogram fish.

I got so many fish that day even though I was so tired. I was so excited. I think I will visit the spot again in the next holiday.
