The Roots: I actually grew up living in three different countries. My parents were obsessed with traveling and making sure we really experienced new cultures and picked up the languages firsthand.

• The Flight: Once on a flight I ended up sitting right next to Jackie Chan’s son. We hit it off and talked for hours—we’re actually still buddies and catch up online pretty often to play games.

• The Wipeout: The first time I ever went snowboarding, I decided by day three that I was ready for the steep, “hard” slopes. I hit this massive jump at the bottom with zero experience, and for a few seconds, it was just me and the clouds... until I hit the ground like a cement truck. I ended up with such bad amnesia from the blackout that I couldn’t remember where I was or even what year it was for a bit.
