The horizontal axis is called the "x- axis".
The vertical axis is the "y-axis"

The point at which the axes intersect, (0,0) is called the ORIGIN.

Ordered pairs represent points on the coordinate plane.
They are also called (x,y) coordinates.

You should find the x value first, then y. Always write your ordered pairs in (x, y) order.

The coordinate plane is divided into 4 quadrants.
They run "counter-clockwise" across the plane.
