Addend- Any of the numbers that are added together.
Example: In 8 + 3 = 11, the 8 and the 3 are addends.
subtrahend- The number that is to be subtracted. The second number in a subtraction.
minuend − subtrahend = difference
Example: in 8 − 3 = 5, 3 is the subtrahend.
Whole number- Any of the numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, etc. Fractions and decimals are not whole numbers.
Sum- The result of adding two or more numbers.
Difference- The result of subtracting one number from another. How much one number differs from another.
