Addition of Fractions

Addition of Fractions requires you to complete multiple steps in order to solve the problem.

Step 1- Check to see if denominators are the same.

Step 2- If the same- add the top and bottom numbers together

Step 3- Simplify/Reduce to lowest term using GCF

Step 4- If different denominators, you will need to use the Least Common Factor to find a number to make the bottom number or you can keep one of the numbers- as long as it is a factor of both numbers

Step 5- Solve like regular addition of fractions problem

Step 6- Simplify/Reduce to lowest term using GCF.
