The most common house in the coastal area was called a Chickee.


Roofs were made of palmetto leaves, they did not have walls, and were built on platforms to avoid the wet ground.

Clothing

The Southeast Indians made mostly all of their clothing from deer skins and cotton. They wore clothing that was loose fitting due to the warm climate they had year round. They used

different types of berries to dye their clothing. Their shoes were also made out of deerskin and were called moccasins.
