Inverse Operations

2
What are inverse operations?
Inverse means opposite.
When we use inverse operations to solve for a variable, we need to use the opposite operation of the one being used in the equation.
Addition and Subtraction are opposites.
Multiplication and Division are opposites.
3
Solving equations
To solve for a variable, we need to get the variable by itself on one side of the equal side.
To get rid of the numbers with the variable, we use inverse operations on both sides of the equal sign.
