Wilderness Weekend

Sue and Ann want to go on a two-day camping trip. They look at a camping trip booklet.

6

SUE: Look at these great trips! Let's go on one.

ANN: Maybe. But I can't make sense out of this map. Can you?

SUE: No. But who cares? Let's go and have some fun!

ANN: But Sue, look at the list of gear they say we need! We don't have anything except hiking boots.

SUE: So what? We can each borrow $50 and rent the stuff we need.

ANN: Sue. I can't do that. You know how tight my budget is.

SUE: So we can't go at all!

7

ANN: Hold on. Here's a one-day hike.

SUE: I'm sure we'd need to read a map for the hike.

ANN: No, it says that they send a guide along.

SUE: How much does it cost? What gear do we need?

ANN: Hiking boots, backpacks, and lunch. And it's only $5. I can afford that. Can you?

SUE: Sure. A hike could be a lot of fun.

ANN: Then let's go on this one.
