We learned that carbon dioxide (CO2) makes the ocean more acidic. This means that the pH decreases. This can cause shells of sea urchins to dissolve.

What will I learn, why am I learning it, and how do I know if I have learned it?

I will further discover how carbon dioxide impacts the pH level of the ocean.

I am learning this to figure out how sea urchins are impacted by climate change, and how this will impact the sea otter's ecosystem.

What has made the water acidic?

Scientists have predicted that ocean acidification is caused by extra carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but how can we test it to see if it's true?
