Singular Nouns and Plural Nouns

• A SINGULAR NOUN names one person place or thing.

• A PLURAL NOUN names more than one person place or thing.

Singular/Plural

• Add -s to most singular nouns

• baker +s = bakers

• fellow +s = fellows

• cricket +s = crickets

Singular/Plural add -es

• Add -es if the singular noun ends in -s, -ch, -sh, or -x

• class/classes

• church/churches

• brush/brushes

• tax/taxes

• Singular and plural nouns can be compound words: flashlight +s = flashlights
