Types of Transformations

  • Rotations - rotate an image, keeps the same size shape and same size angles

  • Reflections - to reflect an image, keeps the same size shape and same size angles

  • Translations - to move or slide an image, keeps the same size shape and same size angles

  • Dilations - to enlarge or make smaller proportionally, however it does not keep the same size nor the same angle measures.

Reflections

  • Starting with a blank Desmos page: Click on "Line" and it will ask you to put two points down so it can create a line for you. Label your line A and B

  • Next, click on the "Polygon" button and create a triangle similar to the one shown. If you need help with this I will go over it shortly.

  • We will learn how to reflect this triangle over this line AND how to reflect the triangle over itself.
