Layers of the Atmosphere

The atmosphere is very big. At some places, it stretches to 10,000 km above the Earth's surface. The atmosphere can be divided into five main layers. The temperature changes in each layer of the atmosphere. Some layers are very hot, while others are very cold. Air pressure decreases as you move up through the atmosphere because the air particles are spaced farther and father apart.
