When you multiply or divide 2 numbers with the SAME sign, the answer is POSITIVE. 

 5 x 6 = 30

−18 ÷ (−6) = 3

  

When you multiply or divide 2 numbers with DIFFERENT signs, the answer is NEGATIVE.

 −5 x 6 = -30

20 ÷ −5 = −4
