Adjective

What is an adjective? An adjective is a word you use to describe a person, place, or thing. An adjective modifies nouns or pronouns.


(Perkataan yang awak gunakan untuk menerangkan seseorang, suatu tempat atau benda.)

Adjective answers questions such as

a) Which one? (Yang mana satu?)

-Which car is yours? The blue car is my car.

-Which one is your sister? The tall and dark girl is my sister.


b) How many? (Berapa banyak?)

-How many books did you buy? I bought a few books.

-There are fifteen students in the class.


c)What kind? (Jenis apa?)

-What kind of cake do you love? I love carrot cake.

-I like black coffee.

Adverb

What is adverb? Adverbs are words that are used to describe a verb (kata kerja), an adjective (kata sifat) or another adverb.

Adverb tells us how, when, where, how much and with what frequency (berapa kerap)

a) Adverb tells us how

-She cheerfully greets her grandparents. (How does she greets her grandparents?)

-Zack carefully writes his essay. (How does Zack writes his essay?)


b) Adverb tells us when

-The movie is starting now. (When is the movie starting?)

-Tira arrived early in the morning. (When did Tira arrived?)


c) Adverb tells us where

-She will plant her garden here. (Where will she plant her garden?)

-The children love to play outside. (Where do the children love to play?)


d) Adverb tells us how much

-Chua was extremely happy when he found out he won the competition. (How happy was Chua when he found out he won the competition?)

-He almost spent all his saving. (How much has he spent his saving?)


c) Adverb tells us the frequency of something

-Amran regularly writes in his diary. (How often Amran writes in his diary?)

-Sometimes, Ali would bring his own lunchbox to school. (How often Ali bring his own lunchbox to school?)
