A Turkey Named Bert

  • A turkey named Bert thought he'd make up a dance,

  • and he'd dance it for the king and queen.

  • If he did a good job, and they liked it a lot,

  • they wouldn't eat him; that would be mean.

  • He went side, close, side, close, flap your wings and touch your toes.

  • Again, side, close, side, close, shake your tail and wiggle your nose.

  • In other words (Ms. Eaddy's words), syncopation is when you have strong sounds on what are considered weak beats.
