Identity Property of Addition

Any number plus zero is the other number.

a + b = a

12 + 0 = 12

Commutative Property of Addition

Flip flop the numbers. The sum will still be the same.

a + b = b + a

Associative Property of Addition

No matter how you group the addends, the sum will always be the same.

(a+b)+c = a+(b+c)

(2+3)+4 = 2+(3+4)

Inverse Property of Addition

Use the opposite operation to solve
