OBLIGATION

• FARD AL AYN Wajib upon every muslim to practically apply the tajweed rules in their recitation

• FARD KIFAAYAH - it is sufficient for a group of muslims in the community to learn the science and fulfill this obligation. NOT fard upon everyone

PREPARATION BEFORE RECITATION

• Have the correct intention, seeking the pleasure of Allah swt.

• Its preferable to be in a state of wudhu.

• Manner of respect and politeness must be observed

What is Al Isti'aathaa

A sentence seeking protection with Allah from shaitaan the rejected before starting Quran recitation

أَعُذُ باللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطاَنِ الرَّجيم

I Seek protection with Allah from shaitaan the rejected

What is Al Basmalah

• To say بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

• In the name of Allah the most kind the most merciful

• In the begining of every surah Except....

• SURAH AT TAWBAH

• But.. If you start in the middle of the surah, then you have an option to say Basmalah or not.

Al Ghunnah

A sound that emerges from the nasal cavity (Al Khayshoom)

A quality Associated with two letters

When a noon or a meem has shaddah, Ghunnah must be made clearly holding for 2 counts

NOON SAAKINAH & TANWEEN

Noon Saakinah is :

An empty noon /A noon with a sukoon on the top

Tanween :

Fat'hatain

Kassratain

Dhammatain

• Al Ith'haar - Clarity

• Al Idghaam - Merging

• Al Iqlaab - Changing

• Al Ikhfaa - Hiding
