Rate of Reaction
Effect of temperature
2
An increase in temperature will increase the rate of reaction.
For example, the reaction between 1 g of granulated zinc and 20 cm3 of 0.2 mol dm-3 hydrochloric acid at 60°C is faster than the reaction between 1 g of granulated zinc and 20 cm3 of 0.2 mol dm-3 hydrochloric acid at 30°C. This is because the temperature (60°C) of the first set of the experiment is higher than the temperature (30°C) of the second set of the experiment.
