What is a Direct Object Pronoun?

• DOP replaces the main object in a sentence

  DOP is the IT in a sentence.

• The DOP avoids repeating an object over and over again.

• It is the main object that RECEIVES the ACTION

• So instead of saying I eat pizza ...you would say I eat it.

• Find the ACTION in your sentence. The action will be a conjugated verb. I eat pizza in the cafe.. Yo como pizza en el cafe.

• Ask yourself WHAT is receiving the ACTION. I eat pizza in the cafe. Yo como pizza en el cafe. So what am I eating ??? The pizza

• Replace the main object with a DOP (it) I eat it in the cafe.

Where should the DOP go when rewriting the sentence?

• Place it BEFORE the conjugated verb.

• Yo hago la maleta.
