Objective of the Lesson

The Story of Prophet Nuh is dramatic and informative. History shows that Allah subhanhu wa ta'ala always helps righteous people and those obey him . History simply also shows that Allah subhanhu wa ta'ala does not save wrongdoers even they think they can save themselves. This is not just a regular story, it offers lessons to learn so that we can receive Allah's protection and blessings.

The events are mentioned in many Surahs in the Qur'an, Nuh Was the most important messenger after Adam(A) and before Ibrahim (A).

Christians and Jews both respect Nuh as a great Prophet. They call him Noah.

The Qur'an is the only book that gives a clear and true version of Prophet Nuh's Story.

All prophets and Messengers were sent to Guide the people and Prophet Nuh's was no different.

Teachings of Nuh

  • Allah sent Nuh to people who were living a life of Misguidance

  • Prophet Nuh had a very difficult time with his peaople he preached for hundreds of years

  • The people laughed at him and mocked him and called him crazy

  • The leaders told their people " He is nothing but a man like yourselves; he just wants to assert superiority over you. And Had Allah wanted He would have surely sent down an angel, we would not have heard this from our forefathers in the past."

  • The leaders tried to convince the people to stay misguided and made Nuh look like a fool.

Nuh's Miserable Life

  • People always made fun of Prophet Nuh and tried to get him to show his powe

  • Prophet Nuh knew that the power was only with Allah and he had to keep pushing on through their teasing and keep saying the truth.

  • Nuh never lost hope in calling to what was right because He had so much trust in Allah. He always asked Allah subhanu wa ta'ala for help.

  • His people lied on him saying he was "Posessed" and that he was a liar.

Lesson from Allah's Help

  • Nuh went through years of sadness but Allah comforted him.

  • Allah told Nuh to build a boat on dry land

  • Building the boat on land made people laugh at Prophet Nuh more but Prophet Nuh still obeyed Allah's commands.

  • We learn from this: As long we know that something is correct then nothing else should matter to us.

The Purpose of Building the Boat

  • When Allah's punishment of the flood came down the boat (ark) kept him and the small amount of believers safe.

  • A pair of every animal and insect was also brought on the boat so that they can roam the earth after the flood.

  • Nuh was not sure if the boat could hold up in the storm put He still placed his comeplete trust in Allah that they would be saved.

Lessons we can Apply today

  • We may expereience things that will try to get us to stop doing the right thing because someone may make fun of us, but when it comes to the truth we should not worry what others think.

  • Nuh's son thought he could save himself by climbing to the top of the mountain during the flood. But nothing can save us except being obedient to Allah.

  • Like Nuh we may face difficult times in our life (sometimes for a long time) but we should never give up hope and seek help from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
