Trigonometry is the study of right triangles and the ratios between their sides.
In trigonometry, a reference angle is used and the three sides of the triangle are referred to as Opposite, Adjacent, and Hypotenuse

Opposite: Across from the reference angle.
Adjacent: NEXT TO the reference angle, it connects the reference angle and the right angle
Hypotenuse: The longest side, it does NOT touch the right angle
