Introduction

How is English, Social Studies, Science, Math, music, DT&ICT connected to the big idea. What I feel I have developed the most, what I achieved, what the big idea means to me and the entry point . It's all in this presentation!!!

What is the main idea and what it means to me?

The big idea is adaptability it means to me that we have to be open-minded so we can adapt to people, schools environment, etc. In my opinion we have to adapt to school environment because it is important to be able to be responsible of our actions and school community. This is the 5th school I have been to so I am trying my best to fit in.

Entry Point Day

In the entry day we learnt about Jupitar and we also drew/created a device that we think would let us survive on plant Jupitar we also created a alien we think exits on Jupitar out of clay!

How is English connected to the main idea?

We read some chapters from the secret garden as a class so we adapted so reading together in a group. Also we adapted to new words in a different accent so now we learnt new words and it affects our English in a good way.

How is math connected to the big idea?

Math is connected to adaptability because we are learning about fractions, decimals, and percentages so we are adapting to use new methods of learning that we never used before. Also adapting to a new teacher is a big step for me.

How is science connected to the main idea

In science we learnt about animals and plants cells. How is it connected you may ask? Learning new things in science made my thinking expand to adapt to new learning. Even animals need to adapt to their environment, which made me thinking of how we as humans should adapt in our class environment.

How is Social Studies connected to the main idea?

(Geography)

In Geography we learnt about maps and we were OPEN-MINDED to adapt to new features that we need to learn and use on maps.

(History)

In history we learnt about the Black Death and people in the olden times adapt to quarantine like us right now.

How is DT/ICT connected to adaptability

This year was the first year for me to use SketchUp. In the beginning it was really hard to adapt to a new platform, however, with Mr. Ross help i was able to learn and to use it freely. We were able to make table legs, which was so cool.

How is Arabic connected to the main idea?

Arabic was a big challenge for me. Most of my educational journey was in English, so i got behind in learning Arabic. Since Arabic is our mother tongue we have no choice but to except to keep learning it. with my parents encouragement I was able to adapt to learn a language that is important for us. Learning a lot of grammar that was hard in the beginning but I adapted to the changes that happened. With a little of perseverance I was able to adapt to Arabic.

How is music connected to adaptability?

In music we are learning to read notes, so we are adapting to reading in a totally different way. It is like a new language that not anyone can read. In the near future I want to learn more about piano and also to adapt to new notes and new learning.

What I feel I have developed the most

In the past half-term I have learnt how to adapt to so many things. For example how to be able to communicate with friends, to be open-minded, to be creative and to develop my writing by reading more.

What I have achieved

I have achieved to make a lot of progress quickly

and quick and lots of presentations. I also achieved multitasking by having some fun while I work.

Conclusion

Adaptability is around earth and the universe. People are adapting every second. There are many ways to adapt like migrating, moving houses and moving schools. All the things I listed is like settlement and settlement is what we are learning in geography. Adaptability is mostly connected to everything!
