​A noun clause is a clause that is used in the same way as a noun or a pronoun.

​A clause is a group of words that contains a subject and a verb.

​

​​Example:​

Peter:  I finally know it! Yay!​

John:  What do you know? Why are you so happy?​

Peter: I finally know where the pretty girl lives.​

Rewrite the sentences by replacing the words in italics with a noun clause (i.e. wh-word / that + subject + verb).

• I was not satisfied with his work.

• I was not satisfied with what he did.
