Combining sentences for clarity

  • Vocab to recognize: to make more clear, clarify, improve clarity

  • If given a choice of word improvement, go with the MORE SIMPLE choice.

  • Keep things *parallel*

  • --look at the verbs: are they all the same tense?

  • --look at the verbs: do they all have the same *style*/endings

  • --look at the words "between the commas:" do they need to have the same structure?

  • If you can change an unclear pronoun to a correct noun, that's usually a GOOD choice.
