What are Lessons?

Lessons are a great way to teach! As a teacher hosting a lesson on Quizizz, you control everything about the way your students experience your content. You can choose from a variety of slide types and include polls and questions at any point in your lesson to make it informative and engaging for your students.

Slide image

28

Joining a Lesson

Joining a lesson is easy and is similar to a quiz. All you need to do is share an active code with your students which they need to enter to join the session.

Slide image

29

Presenter-led experience

Lessons allow you to control whether or not to mirror the content displayed on the presenter’s device onto student devices. When applied, this will ensure that all slides and questions appear on student devices at the same time.

Can I teach using Quizizz?

You can teach and facilitate classes on Quizizz using Lessons.

Lessons are especially beneficial for remote learning because you control the experience. It is a teacher-based mode where everyone progresses at the same pace. Your students can easily join a Lesson from anywhere using their own devices.

Game Settings - General Settings

  • Student attempts - lets you control the number of attempts made by students in a quiz.

  • Show answers in-game - controls the feedback that students see right after answering a question.

  • Show answers post-game -This setting controls the display of the review section for the students at the end of the game

35

Game Settings - Gameplay Settings

  • Question timer - If this is ON, we award students points based on accuracy+speed. 600 points for getting it correct, and 0-400 based on speed. (An incorrect answer is always 0, regardless of speed.)

  • Show Leaderboard - If this is turned ON, students will see a leaderboard after each question, and see their rank during and after the quiz.

  • Shuffle questions - If this is turned ON, each of your students will receive the questions in a different order. This makes it difficult for students to "get help" from each other (ergo, no cheating). :)

36

Game Settings - Gameplay Settings

  • Shuffle answer options -If this is turned ON, the answers will be shuffled for each question (each student gets a different order.) This is ideal when you don't want to worry about shuffling the answers while creating the quiz.

  • Show memes - f this is ON, students will see funny images (called memes) after each question. You can also create your own meme set

37

What are Power-ups?

  • Power-ups are single-use abilities designed to increase engagement and participation on Quizizz.

  • Once a student acquires a Power-up, they’ll see a power-up icon at the bottom of their screen and can click on the icon to activate it for a specific question.
