Touch Typing Technique

What is Touch Typing?

It is the typing process where keys are identified by touch rather than by sight, and pressed accordingly. Touch typists use all of their fingers to type as opposed to the ‘hunt-and-peck’ typists who use only one or two fingers to type.

The Benefits of Touch Typing

*Speed and accuracy:

Touch typing trains students to type fast as well as accurately, without having to look at the keyboard every now and then.

*Lowers health risks:

While the 'hunt and peck' typists use just one or two fingers to type, touch typists employ all of their fingers. Touch typists are thus far less likely to develop Repetitive Stress Injuries (RSI) to their soft fingers. Additionally, not having to look at the keyboard again and again lets them work with a better posture, reducing the risks of back and spinal issues.
