Class Rules

  • Do your best

  • Be mindful of others

21

Do your best

As students mature and become more and more responsible, the most successful students are the students that no matter how they are feeling (if they are frustrated, confused, upset, or just do not like that class) they try the best they can that day.

22

Be mindful of others (and your actions)

As a student it is your responsibility to help your classmates learn. No one student has the right to disrupt others or make it more difficult for them to learn. Make sure you are coming to class ontime, you are unmuting yourself and coming on camera when asked, and when not asked you make sure to put yourself on mute and you are not acting silly or being distracting on camera.

  • Unit Reviews

29

Weekly Point Sheets

  • Need to be turned in at the end of class on Thursday and Friday

  • It is your responsibility to update your point sheet at the end of each class.

Grade Checks

  • Grade checks will be completed every 2 weeks.

  • This will help make sure that we are not falling so far behind that we end up overwhelmed.

  • If students have an F in 2 or more of their classes, I will be making phone calls home, and requiring you to join me in office hours.

  • Grade Checks will be worth 20% of your grade.

32

Every week

3

4

33

Unit Reviews

  • Every 5 lessons in rewards we will have a unit review.

  • Unit reviews are 20% of your grade.

  • The kahoot and quizziz we do in class before the review, will have all the questions that will be on the unit review, so take these seriously and you will do well.

34

Feverish Fluency Flipgrid

  • The only way to improve at something, is to practice.

  • Fluency means how many words we can read in 1 minute.

  • When our fluency is strong, our brain spends less energy thinking about how to read a word, and we are able to spend more brain power comprehending what we are reading.

  • When our fluency is weak, our brain is spending more energy trying to decode or read a word, which means we are less able to comprehend the story.

  • Which would you rather be doing: Learning to read or Reading to learn?
