The Great Rift Valley is a series of contiguous geographic trenches, approximately 7,000 kilometres in total length, that runs from the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon which is in Asia to Mozambique in Southeast Africa.

Jordan rift valley


extends from South of lake Tabaria to the Gulf of Aqaba. The lowest point in the Jordan rift valley is at the shores of the Dead Sea which is also the lowest point on land on the surface of the Earth at 400 meters below sea level.

The Dead Sea is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River. Its surface and shores are 400 meters below sea level, Earth's lowest elevation on land.
