The Product Rule

  • When the bases are the same, keep the base and ADD the exponents ---> ex. (xa)(xb) = xa+b

  • If you have coefficients multiply them together, keep the base and ADD the exponents ---> ex. (2xa)(3xb) = 6xa+b

  • Be sure these notes are in your notebook
