The Product Rule

• When the bases are the same, keep the base and ADD the exponents ---> ex. (x^a)(x^b) = x^a+b

• If you have coefficients multiply them together, keep the base and ADD the exponents ---> ex. (2x^a)(3x^b) = 6x^a+b
