Style includes diction (word choice), tone, figurative language, rhythm, grammatical structure, etc.

Verbal Irony
Irony (in general) is when something happens that is unexpected or doesn't make sense in some way that is humorous.
Verbal irony is when words spoken suggest the opposite of the truth.
We've talked about situational irony before (when the opposite of what we anticipate happens), but verbal irony is about words, specifically, contradicting the truth.
