Prompt Question

Does Janie reach full autonomy by the end of the book? Explain your reasoning in a well written argumentative essay.

Directions

Students will have a week for the culminating task. Use the Argumentative Writing MCAP Rubric to grade this assessment.  Group Essay will be scored on 100 Point Scale.  Group will also be graded for their EVIDENCE CATCHER on 100 Point Scale.  So the project is worth 200 Points at the assessment level.

Each group will be developing an essay response to the prompt question using evidence from the text to support their argument.  Students will be guided by the following outline in developing their response.

Group Project Requirements

This means that your Group Essay Response will be 5 Written Paragraphs.   The Group will collaborate on the development of each paragraph and turn in one concise essay response.  Students will have class time to work on their Group Essay Response and should be prepared to share their response with the class.   

Group Essay response must use the Culminating Task Essay Outline Template.  Essays written outside the template will not be accepted.  This means that each section of the template must be completed.
