What is a Certified Nursing Assistant

A certified nursing assistant (CNA) is someone who helps, clients, residents or patients with health care needs under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN)

There are many great CNA schools all over the united states some of the best are

Herzing University located in Wisconsin costing about $4,000 including books, uniforms and class fees.

Purdue Global University located in West Lafayette (send information to get pricing on program) 

A Certified Nursing Assistant Program in the United States on average costs anywhere from $500-$2,000

Where can you work as a CNA?

When you become a Certified Nursing Assistant you can work at many places like 

Home Health Care Hospice Care  Hospitals  Nursing Homes  Some Clinics.

Daily tasks

Feed, Bathe, and Dress patients. Take Patient Vital Signs (only certain states allow this) Serve meals, make beds and keep rooms clean. Set up medical equipment and assist with some medical procedures.  Answer calls for help and observe changes in patient’s condition or behavior. Non patient oriented tasks.

The pay All varies depending on where you go but the Average Certified Nursing Assistant that Lives in The United States will make about $32,820 Yearly

Hourly They can make anywhere between $10-$15

Bonuses are usually included like holiday pay, hazard pay, overtime pay etc..

Is becoming a CNA Worth It?

Ultimately that is up to you if you think you can handle the workload, or you are looking to be in the medical field this is a great start to see the way things work and how they are done. 

No matter what you do it is very important to make sure you know what you are getting yourself into before you do it. 

Being a Certified Nursing Assistant can be challenging but it can also be very rewarding.
