Korean Syllables & Blocks
Unit One : Lesson One
13
Note...
There are 9 ways to write a syllable block in Korean an only 4 are mostly used
When writing a syllable block, the letters 으 우 오 유 요 , are horizontal making the block horizontal but if the letters are 여야애에어아이얘예, then it makes the syllable block vertical. ex will be showed in next slide
You CAN'T make a syllable block WITHOUT a at least one vowel and consonant
There is never more than one vowel in a syllable block. EVER
14
The 4 main blocks
Here their are four ways to write a syllable block. As seen in the picture if the vowel is horizontal it will make the block as well and if the vowel is vertical then the block becomes vertical.
c = consonant
v = vowel
15
Practice
Here in this picture it shows many ways to write with only two letters.
Now lets write it down for practice. Remember these aren't words but it's good for practice and will help you remember.
