You can model equations by using Algebra Tiles

• Long Bar [Orange] = Positive Varaible

• Long Bar [Red] = Negative Variable

• Cube [Orange] = Positive 1

• Cube [Red] = Negative 1

• Remember Zero Pairs: A positive and A negative = 0

Example:

• x + 3 = 10

• The long green bar is positive x

• The yellow cubes are positive 1's cubes
