Textiles are materials made from yarn. They can be used to make clothing, furnishings, towels, toys, flags and boat sails.

Natural Fibres
Natural fibers- are grown in nature e.g. cotton, wool, silk, linen. They must be spun to join the fibers and make smooth threads called yarn

Human made fibers are made from materials such as oil and coal. There fibers are used to make polyester, nylon, acrylic and rayon.
Machines are used to draw fibers into filaments and then twisted into yarns.
