WHAT IS A UNIT RATE?

HOW CAN YOU FIND A UNIT RATE?

  • A UNIT RATE is a special rate that compares a quantity to one unit of another quantity. It is a rate with a denominator of 1 unit.

  • To write a rate as a unit rate, DIVIDE the numerator and denominator of the rate BY THE DENOMINATOR.
