P4 Electric Circuit
An electric circuits is made up of different parts
These parts are battery, switch, wires and bulb

2
Battery
is the sources of energy in an electric circuit.
There are positive (+ve) and negative (-ve) terminals of the battery are connected properly to other parts of the lectric circuits
3
Switch
to controls when an electric current can flow in an electric circuit
The electric current flows if the switch is on and stops if the switch is off
4
Wires
to connect one electrical part to another
Electrical wires are made of thin strips of metal
Most wires are made of copper
5
Bulb
produces light and heat in order for the bulb to light up, it has to be properly connected in a circuit
Bulb is made up of a:
-metal filament
-glass case
-metal casing and tip
6
Parts of bulb:
-Metal filament
Usually made filament is usually made of a metal called tungsten
When an electric current flows through the metal filament it glows and gives off light and heat
7
Glass case
the glass case covers the metal filament to prevent it from being damaged
8
Metal casing and tip
These parts connect the bulb to an electrical circuit
9

10
Multiple Choice
These are parts of electric circuit, except...
battery
switch
glass
wires
11
Multiple Choice
the uses of a switch is ......
to connect one electrical part to another
produces ight and heat
controls when an electric current can flow in an electric circuit
12
Multiple Select
There are two terminals ...... and negative of the battery are connected properly to other parts of the electric circuit
positive
neutral
13
Closed circuits
A Closed circuit is one through which an electric current can flow.
There are 2 types of closed circuit:
1. Circuit A
2. Circuit B
14
Open Circuit
An open is one through which an electric current cannot flow.
There are 2 types of open circuit
1. Circuit C
2. Circuit D
15
Conductors and Insulator
Conductor is the materials that allow an electric current to pass through them
Insulator is the materials that do not allow an electric current to pass through them
16
Examples of Conductors
The examples of electrical conductors are steel paper clip, aluminium foil, copper coins, iron keys, steel cutlery, metal nails, aluminium can
17
Examples of Insulator
these are the examples of electrical insulator plastic spoon, ice cream stick, glass marble, eraser, plastic ball
18
Multiple Choice
Look at this picture, based on this picture this is the example of ............. circuit
open circuit
closed circuit
19
Multiple Choice
in ....... circuit the bulbs will ......... because electric current is not flowing through the circuits
