Events Close to Texas

Closer to home for Texans was the conflict in Mexico. Rebels overthrew Mexican President Porfirio Diaz. The Mexican Revolution forced Diaz to leave office in May 1911. For the next several years, Mexican leaders fought for control. While Emiliano Zapata led forces in the south, Pancho Villa led forces in the North.
