Most sentences have (at least) three parts:

Subject🡪 the person or thing that does the action

Verb🡪 the action

Object🡪the person or thing that receives the action

Generally speaking, sentences in French follow the same word order as those in English.

However, when the object of a sentence changes from a noun to a pronoun in French, the word order of that sentence also changes.

Remember:  Direct Object Pronouns ALWAYS go right before the verb!

Here are some examples...

If you have a sentence that is NEGATIVE, remember the object always goes right before the verb.  So the ne…pas go around both the object and the verb.

She does not listen to him:

Elle ne l'écoute pas
