*1832 - Samuel Morse began work to develop a telegraph.
* Telegraph - a machine that sends and receives signals through a thin wire.
* Six years later, the Morse Code was invented.
*Morse Code uses dots and dashes to represent letters and numbers.
*Delivers messages almost instantly.
* 1844 - the first telegraph message was sent between two cities.
*1876 - Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone
