Before Starting

1. Familiarize yourself: with the answer sheet and practice making marks with a pencil. 

2. Use the correct marking tool, which is a pencil for the ECCE. 

3. Listen carefully: to the examiner's instructions for filling out the identification section.

Marking Your Answers

1. Mark on the answer sheet, not in the test booklet. 

2. Fill the circle completely: with a heavy, dark, black mark. 

3. Fill only one circle: for each question. 

4. Erase any old marks completely: if you change your mind about an answer. 

5. Do not make stray marks: on the answer sheet. 

6. Do not fold or crease: the answer sheet. 

7. Guess: if you are unsure of an answer, as there is no penalty for incorrect answers.

After Completing the Test

1. Check the answer sheet: to ensure all instructions have been followed, especially for the identification section. 

2. Hand in the answer sheet: and test booklet when instructed by the examiner. 

Why These Steps Are Important

• Machine Scoring:

  The answer sheet is machine-scored, so marks must be clear and complete for the scanner to read them accurately. 

ECCE: four parts

• speaking:

  (10-15 minutes-individually)

• listening:

  (45 minutes)

• GVR=Grammar-Vocabulary-Reading:

  (90 minutes)

• writing:

  (30 minutes-one task)

Listening:

Part 1:

• Format: You will hear 25 short recorded conversations. 

  Questions: After each conversation, a question about it will be asked. 

  Answer Choices: The answer options are presented as three pictures. 

  Hearing: Each conversation and question is heard only once. 

  Task: You must select the appropriate picture from the three options provided. 

listening:

Part 2:

• Format: This part features four different short talks on various topics, delivered by different speakers.

• Questions: Each talk is followed by five questions.

• Hearing: Each talk and its questions are played twice.

• Answer Choices: The answer options are four written choices (A, B, C, or D).

• Task: After listening, you must choose the best answer from the four written options.

• Notes: You are allowed to take notes in the test booklet during this part.
